SISTER LISA MARIE
Sister Lisa Marie took her final vows in 1995. She is an art teacher K-8 for an inner city school. Her hobbies include art, camping / nature, and reading myth stories of other cultures.
I first began considering a religious vocation when I was in high school. my inclinations were more along the lines of veterinary medicine or paleontology. However, I do recall pressing out circles from Wonder Bread and pretending to give communion to a church full of people.
I met the Pallottines at the age of 17 when my family moved to a subdivision close to the Pallottine Renewal Center. When I turned 18, 1 decided to become an associate with the Pallottines. This gave me the opportunity to get to know the sisters better, as well as for them to get to know me. I began to explore the word "vocation" in a general way, and began to discern if religious life was something I felt called enough to respond to. As an associate, I did not make any commitment to join the Pallottines but was encouraged to visit other communities, continue with my social life, and continue to date. In the associate program, I experienced myself being drawn to the Pallottine spirituality, hospitality and sense of humor.
My focus during these initial years is to grow in acceptance of my gifts and limitations, discover what it means to live in community, deepen my relationship with My God, and to be open to how I can best bring God to His people.
